?: the story of the Bible in one sentence

I'm going to try something new and just ask a good question that I hope you guys will offer your anwers to by commenting (or emailing me so that I can post them if you can't). Here it is:

How would you summarize the storyline of the Bible in one sentence?

God's love and passion for man.

Perhaps this way(shooting from the hip):
God calling humanity back to a delight in Him, rather than an obsession with itself.

God's love story and plan for eternity.

Shooting from the other hip:

Hope lost.

Hope restored.

God praised.

How many hips do you have, Lance? I'm counting four since you've given four sentences!

At least string those dude together with semicolons instead.

Okay, I'll shoot from Lance's hip as well ...

The glory of God is revealed through His interaction with His creation, including, but not limited to, His glorious grace in the redemption of many and His glorious justice in the punishment of the rebellious.

I may take and tweak that, but that's all Lance's hip could afford.

Incidentally, how many posts before we get some love from CJC?

Also, I think I might have to piggyback on this slooge on my own blog. It's a brilliant question and ploy.

Okay, I showed you mine ... now you show me yours.

I'm gonna need hip replacement (but to the glory of God).

Lance, I'm with Gunny-that's more than one sentence. And when you use words like 'slooge', I understand your friendship with C2 a little more! Here's my best shot: The Bible is the story of God’s creation and man’s rejection of God, God’s sacrifice and man’s redemption through God, and God’s restoration of man and all creation.

The Bible is the story of how the King of kings glorifies Himself in His dealings with those who have committed high treason against Him, restoring a group of rebels through His mercy and giving just recompense to those who refuse His pardon.

Lance, meanwhile, has run out of hips.

Well, I may have received few comments by many, but I sure got many comments by few! I'll post on this this weekend, but for now, I'm claiming the title for "Most Concise Entry" with: "Creation v.1.0" Of course, I'd elaborate with the covenants (Noahic= v. 1.1., Abrahamic v. 1.2, etc.), the new heavens and new earth=Creation v. 2.0, and Jesus and the Church would have to represent the Creation v. 2.0 beta.

Story of the Bible; in one sentance huh....let's try this...

Man's continued failure, resulting from self serving actions, cleansed only by the Grace, Love and continued blessing from the all mighty God and his love for us.

..or...

On our own, we're hosed.

Take your pick.
